Award description

The late David Vickers, a well-known and highly regarded lawyer and judge, was both professionally and personally committed to equality and justice for all people. He believed neither was possible without access to education and community participation.

Criteria

Criteria

This award is available to Indigenous students who demonstrate commitment to their culture and heritage, as well as to their communities, however they define them. Their application will demonstrate this commitment as well as a dedication to finding contemporary solutions that honour Indigenous culture, balanced with the interests and needs of Canadian society as a whole.听

You must:

  • be currently registered as a student at 多人内射 College
  • have Indigenous (First Nations, M茅tis, Inuit, or Native American) ancestry
  • have a聽GPA聽of 2.5 or equivalent
  • submit a self-written letter outlining your commitment to wellness
  • submit a letter of reference from a community member or instructor talking about your commitment to wellness
  • complete the application form

Successful applicants will demonstrate their ability to "walk in both worlds. You will be asked to attend an awards ceremony. Financial need will be taken into consideration but is not the primary criteria.
